I have returned to the JOY of CREATING ART!
I continue to circle back to the beauty of abstract art, not focusing on what I see, but on how I feel, or how things can be interpreted in shape, texture, colour and line.
I have been teaching art for the last 3 years to students age 8 - 88, from all backgrounds.
I have also taught Assisted Learning classes for students with special needs. I believe that art (or any hands on creative process) provides a huge capacity for healing, understanding and reconnection with self, particularly in this technology based age.
I have been working on, and learning about expressive arts therapy, art & trauma - learning how art, movement, sound, pen to paper, and play, can be alternate ways for people to express experiences and deep feelings that are often difficult to discuss.
This has been hugely rewarding for me.
